Who are you?

My name is Laurin and my little craft baby is happylime accessories.

Why did you choose your shop name?
My favorite color is lime green, and the happy... Well, crafting makes me happy...? I just kindof went with it!

Where are you located?

I am originally from right outside of Atlanta, GA, but currently live in Goldsboro, NC with my husband who is in the military.

What is your favorite place to visit in the Triangle?

I really do love the downtown area of Raleigh. I like all the neat little shops and places to get coffee at odd hours of the night.

What do you create and how long have you done so?

I really kind of dabble in all sorts of things. It started out with crocheting, then sewing, then jewelry making, then felting, back to jewelry making, and back to sewing. My latest craft is making polymer clay beads, which I have had a hard time keeping in my store, they sell too quickly to keep up!

What inspires you?

I draw a lot from really expensive things I see that I want to make a cheaper version of. I love going out to little boutique shops to search for ideas for jewelry and handbags to put my own little spin on.

What is you most popular item that you create?

My polymer clay beads have been fairly popular on Etsy. I think that is because a lot more people who MAKE crafts see them as opposed to people who want to buy ready-made items, so I have a lot of people buying home-made jewelry making supplies rather than completed jewelry.

What are your goals?

I would really really love to go to school and get an architectural engineering degree.. I would also really really love to go to a class to learn metal and glass working skills.

What do you do when you are not creating?

I work full time for the school system doing payroll. I love my job! I work with some really sweet ladies.
