Featured Seller: jclange "Little Boy Blue"

Who are you?
My name is Jana Lange and my company is
Little Boy Blue. My Etsy shop name is jclange.

Why did you choose your company name?
Little Boy Blue was named for my oldest little boy, Harrison, who has beautiful blue eyes. Seven and a half years later, I was blessed with another little blue-eyed darling named Jackson. Being their Mom is my greatest blessing and truly my most fulfilling accomplishment.

Where are you located?
I am located in North Raleigh.

What do you create?
Although I create many different items like altered clipboards and memory boxes, I specialize in custom photo collages. My portraits are unique and whimsical. I work with photos of kids, pets, families and friends.

What is your favorite place to visit in the "triangle"?
One of my favorite places in the triangle is downtown Wake Forest. It has a variety of artists' studios and shops including
The Cotton Company, which I used to have a booth at when I was painting furniture several years ago. I can spend a whole day there shopping, eating, and getting inspired.

Where do you create?
The front room of my house is my studio. I painted the walls a gorgeous shade of light purple and hung a black chandelier. I have a wall of cubbies that hold all of my papers and books. The entire room is literally bursting with supplies business stuff. I end up spending 70% of my days (and evenings) in there most weeks!

What is your most popular item that you create?
I get the most orders for my kids' room signs. Customers love to have them made for absolutely unique baby and birthday gifts.

What types of things do you do to turn 1st time buyers into repeat clients?
Little touches and great customer service makes customers remember you. Because I make custom items, I have several discussions back and forth with clients before I start their pieces. I make sure to send them a thank you email and ask that they let me know how they like their piece once they receive it. I also include a card in their order that gives them a discount on any collage on canvas that they might order from me as an incentive for a future order.

What do you do when you are not creating?
When I'm not creating or working on business, I'm busy being a single mom (which of course is a full time job in itself) and spending time with friends and family.
