Etsy Around the World: Elze & Whitesheep

Who are you?
Well, officially I am Ruta Elze Norvilaite (if you are an English speaker you may broke your tongue, I guess), the second year Textiles student in Vilnius Art Academy. Unofficially, sometimes I feel like I am Winnie the Pooh or inventor of small magic things or traveler in this beautiful world or just a little creature with the cup of warm tee in my hands… I have two Etsy shops: main shop there the little creatures lives (Elze) and another one for soft and fuzzy supplies (Whitesheep).
Where are you located?
Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, Europe. One of the coziest capital I ever seen (just a bit over 0,5 million people).
If you have you ever visited North Carolina, what do you remember about your trip?
No, I haven’t.
What do you create?
Many things: Art dolls, books, textile jewelery, toys, felt accessories, hand dyed scarfs and clothes, illustrations, paintings, tapestry, secret boxes, mixed media collages and sculptures… I guess in the future this list will be even longer because I also want to try pottery and many other things.
Where do you create?
At the moment I create in my bedroom. But I looks more like a studio just with a bed in it :)
What inspires you?
Almost everything. People, textures, things, art pieces, nature…
What is your next project going to be?
To design Christmas ornaments (You should find them in my shop before the holidays).
How do you envision your creations being used by your customers?
Enjoyed and loved. I believe that beauty can make the world better, so if my creations can make the world better my mission is fulfilled.
What do you do when you are not creating?
Like the most people I sleep, eat, cook, read, meet friends, watch films, ride a bike, travel, pray, write, drink lots of tee, play, observe the world… And many other things too …
