Local Featured Seller: FrenziedArtists

Who are you?
Frenzied Artists is a mother and daughters team. It was established by mother Sandra Burris, myself (Christina Harper) and my sister, Natalie Yesayan.

Where are you located?
I live in Raleigh, NC. I moved up here to go to NC State University and fell in love with the area. I bought my first home here last March and have been busy making it 'my home' ever since. I live with my sweet, future hubby Michael and 2 kitties, Garfield and Lucy.

What do you create?
Frenzied Artists creates a variety of items, including Jewelry, Handbags, Aprons, Jewelry Display Frames, Key Fobs, Dolls, Stained glass and anything else we can dream up!

What is your favorite place to visit in the "triangle"?
One of my favorite places to go is the Flea Market at the State Fairgrounds. I've found some great things there that have been repurposed into artwork! I also enjoy the local bead shows too!

When did you start creating?
Art and craft projects have always been a part of our everyday life since we were little. Natalie and I used to help Mom in her craft room making gifts for friends and family. I remember we used to go up to Boone all the time sitting on the back deck of the mountain house, making little beaded key chains. I used to make friendship bracelets and key chains, taking orders from the kids at school. Ah, the life of an entrepreneur!

What inspires you?
For me personally, I get inspired by life! Yes sounds crazy but people I meet, nature, and pretty craft supplies will do it in a heartbeat, aka instant creativity! When I'm creating, I like to picture the type of person I'm creating for. Visualizing the outfits they would wear with our art and the smile they have when they put it on excites me!

Where do you create?
In our art rooms of course! We've always had an art room in our house growing up and now that we each have our own houses, we each get our own art room! We also take an annual craft retreat to the mountains of Asheville. We fit as much of our stuff in the car as possible and head west for a week of creativity, inspiration and family fun! Plus you have to love the little stores in downtown. Talk about inspiration!

Why did you choose your company name?
We had been talking about starting up a business for awhile and I got a call from my mom one night. She told me she had been frenzied that afternoon trying to juggle too many things and realizing she was burning daylight made her even crazier - not enough hours in the day to create everything she wanted to start and finish. She then went to the computer for information and had to sign up for something – out came Frenzied Artists!! The perfect name for our frenzied little family!

How do you acquire new clients?
This is the part I think we need the most help with. Open to suggestions! We've applied to the Cary Spring Daze craft show this year so we are hopeful to get a spot there. We had our first show last October in Ft. Mill, SC. It was a great learning experience and we will be making a lot of changes for the big one this spring. I've been dabbling in the showcase part of Etsy and I'm working on a portfolio to start approaching boutiques in the Triangle and Charlotte area. I would love to hear from all of you about what you've found to be a good client generator!
