Local Featured Seller: Rabbithollowprims

Who are you?
My Actual name is Susan O’Connor and my Business Name is
Rabbit Hollow Prims.

Where are you located?
I am located in Hope Mills, NC

Why did you choose your shop name?
I chose it because my mother quit crafting and had called her booth Rabbit Hollow Crafts so I decided to keep the name alive and just changed Crafts to Prims.
What do you create?
Mostly primitive dolls but I also have stitcheries, wooden signs and turkey calls all handmade.
What is your favorite place to visit in the "triangle"?
I don’t know if this is considered in the triangle or not but I love going to the Rusty Bucket in Apex.

When did you start creating?
As a teenager, I used to help my mom make dolls for local craft shows for extra money. We would set up and sell at the shows and she would pay me so much for helping. I would say about 17 years old.

What is the most time consuming part of your craft?
I would have to say the detail work that goes into the dolls. The lace, buttons , hair, accessories and such can take awhile to get just right.

What do you do when you are not creating?
I work a full time job as a teacher then I also have two small boys 6 and 4 that keep me busy so I am always on the run. I fall into bed at night LOL

What is your most cherished handmade item?
I would have to say a wooden Santa that my dad hand-carved. He hated it and threw it in the trash. I went and took it out and painted it to look all prim and it came out great. I had pics posted on my blog at Christmas of him. My dad to this day can’t believe how good he turned out with some paint.

You can also find Susan online with her blog and Flickr.
