The NC Triangle Etsy Street Team and local creative reuse center the Scrap Exchange are issuing a Call for Artist for the 2009 Craftland to be held in the Scrap Exchange's Green Gallery. This will be the Scrap Exchange's 6th Annual Holiday Marketplace. All artists and crafters who use re-purposed materials are invited to apply.
Craftland is a three month, juried show, beginning October 16, 2009 and ending January 2, 2010. The 2009 Craftland is curated by the Scrap Exchange and the NC Triangle Etsy Street Team. Participating designers will be chosen according to how well their work fits into the scope of Craftland, and the quality and originality of the goods. All items submitted to be sold at Craftland should be made from at least 75% re-purposed materials. Re-purposed materials are defined as reusable materials or materials that have an earth friendly component.
Artists who wish to participate in Craftland must submit the attached application, 3-5 photos of their work and a $10 non-refundable application fee. Photos will not be returned. Applications and photos can also be emailed. You can view the application online, but feel free to email for more information.
For any items sold at Craftland, the artist will have a 60/40% split and will receive 60% of their sales, and The Scrap Exchange will retain 40%.
The Scrap Exchange’s Green Gallery is located at 548 Foster Street, Durham, NC. Store & Gallery hours: M-F 11-5, Thursday 11-6, Saturday 10-5, Sunday 12-5.
