Who are you? David and Allie Carpenter, co-founders of
Whitt & Co.
Where are you located? Raleigh, North Carolina
What do you create? Hand-made, hand-stitched leather goods.
What is your favorite place to visit in the "triangle"? Our
favorite place to visit in the Triangle would have to be Glenwood South
during First Friday. We love to grab dinner at The Pit or Blue Mango
and then walk around and see the galleries, live music and street
festivals.

When did you start creating? We've both been creating for years. David
is a general contractor by trade and works with his hands every day.
Branching out into something more creative was very natural for him.
Allie loves everything DIY and creative. She sews, scrapbooks and loves
to transform flea-market finds.
What inspires you? We are inspired by our deep Southern roots and modern, classic design. We strive to create products that are useful and necessary but still feel like a luxury due to their handmade quality.
Where do you create? We create all of our products in our guest room/office/studio in our home. Lack is space is definitely an issue for us now, but we're making it work! When our business grows we would love to have a dedicated workspace outside our home.

Why did you choose your company name? We choose our name to honor
David's grandparents, Gene & Eloise Whitt. They had a huge
influence on his childhood and family life. We thought it would be a
great legacy to create a company named after two wonderful individuals.
What are your goals? We are all about family and our ultimate goal is for this to become a full time business so Allie can work from home with our baby. Beyond selling products, we would also love to create an online community where followers can share ideas, thoughts and inspiration.

What do you do when you are not creating? Allie spends all of her free
time outside of work creating! Being creative is the ultimate outlet
for her. David just got a bass boat and loves to fish and spend time
outdoors as much as possible.
