Handmade Happenings - August 6-8, 2010

It's a new month, which means First Friday festivities in Raleigh! Why not head downtown and spend an evening sampling the creative sites, sounds & tastes?

And on Saturday, join in the celebration of National Farmers Market Week by visiting your local market!  In addition to offering healthy, fresh, sustainably-grown produce (that doesn't have to be trucked in from thousands of miles away!),  many farmers markets also include baked goods, meats, dairy products, and handmade craft vendors, too.  Local yummies, handmade goodies... sounds like a match to me!

First Friday - Downtown Raleigh
Join us for a fun-filled introduction to Raleigh's exciting art, music and dining scene.  Enjoy a free self-guided tour of local art galleries, art studios, museums, retail, restaurants and alternative art venues!
Where: Downtown Raleigh
When: 6:oo pm - ??? (times vary by venue)
Sellers to look for: metamorphosis will be at Found Studios, in the Carter Building at 16 Glenwood Avenue.  (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
OldBroomStreet will be one of several artists outside The Morning Times Cafe & Gallery at 10 E. Hargett Street. (6:00 pm - 11:00 pm)
