Handmade Happenings, May 4-6, 2012

Keep it local & handmade, Triangle!  We've got some great events for you this weekend in Raleigh, Durham, Apex, and even one in Fayetteville, if you're up for the trip.  Our diverse group of artists and crafters has something for everyone!

Friday, May 4
First Friday - Raleigh
Join us for a fun-filled introduction to Raleigh's exciting art, music and dining scene with local art galleries, art studios, museums, retail, restaurants and alternative art venues!

Downtown Raleigh

6:00 pm - ??? (times vary by venue)
Artists to visit:
* Bordeaux Lane Studio and La Te Da Jewels & Adornments will be at the Morning Times Market on Harget Street. Local art vendors, live music and more!  7:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

* Melsie Glass has a piece in the "Food for Thought" exhibit at the Visual Art Exchange, 309 W. Martin Street. The exhibit runs all month, but First Friday reception is from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
* metamorphosis metals has an open house at her studio in The Carter Building- 14 Glenwood Ave, Studio #24 from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

Saturday, May 5
Durham Craft Market 
A fun outdoor market which offers a rotating slate of approximately 35 artisans. They represent many different categories of craft, all of which are hand-made in the Durham area and are of outstanding quality. You'll enjoy browsing our various booths and meeting our friendly artisans eager to talk about what they do.
Where: Central Park, 501 Foster Street, Durham (across from the Farmers Market Pavilion)
When: 8:00 am - Noon

Peakfest - Apex
Salem Street in historic downtown Apex will come alive for a day of fun, food and fellowship at this annual arts and crafts festival. Visit "The Peak of Good Living" for the 32nd year of Peakfest!

When: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Independent Artisans Market - Fayetteville
an indoor market celebrating art and design featuring independent artisans from the East Coast and beyond. It is a place where creative collective minds meet to stage their wares and create more visibility for independent artists. IAM is a platform for everyone to find one of a kind items and to be inspired.
Where: The A.I.T. Building, 421 Maiden Ln., Fayetteville, NC, 28305
When: 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm
