We have a winner! (Monthly Challenge #7 - Red Hots)

Congratulations to Tracey of TraceyGurley for winning Monthly Challenge #7! Her original painting was a huge hit with the voters.

About TraceyGurley (from the shop profile):
" I have always enjoyed all types of art. I love to paint flowers and landscapes with bright and beautiful colors. My intent is to create art that makes you happy and feel good when you look at it. There is something magical about painting - the way the color goes on the canvas, the way it feels, the experience to create something, that just feeds my soul."

Tracey will receive a dream garland which was graciously donated by Hope of tripletrouble. She will also have the honor of choosing the theme for Monthly Challenge #8! Stay tuned for the upcoming announcement of the next challenge.

Featured Seller: Dabblinginthedew

Who are you?
My name is Hope Comito Malott. I have two shops, Dabblinginthedew and Tripletrouble.

Where are you located?
I live in Elizabeth City, a small town in northeast NC.

What do you create?
I love to paint. With paint, I can make new things look old and old things look new. Painting is my first passion but I dabble in all arts and crafts, sewing, paper crafts, and a bit of jewelry making as well.

What is your favorite place to visit in the "triangle"?
It's been years since I visited the triangle area. The places I'd love to visit sometime in the future... BONE SUCK'N DEALS and Beggars & Choosers

When did you start creating?
My mom had an artist heart and encouraged us kids to be creative. My sisters and I would make angel ornaments from old paper cards and sell them door to door during the holidays. I must have been around 7 years old. I have been making things ever since.

What is your next project going to be?
Right now my kitchen table is full of jewelry finds and tools. I have a nice collection of vintage beads and would like to use them in some new listings of jewelry and tree ornaments for the upcoming holidays. With the holidays nearing, I will be working on gifts for friends and family as well.

Why did you choose your shop name?
Dabblinginthedew was chosen as my first shop name. The name comes from an old Rote song I found in an antique song book. The words of the song tickled me. I use a copy of the sheet music as a thank you card in all my sales at dabblinginthedew.
Tripletrouble was chosen as a play on three's. I am a triplet and I wanted a place where I could offer needful supplies at a affordable price, $3.00. I try to keep the trouble part out of all my transactions.

What types of things do you do to turn first time buyers into repeat clients?
It thrills me to sell arts and crafts and supplies on Etsy. I try hard to communicate quickly with my customers, to follow-up with my customers, and to include samples of other supplies offered in my stores in each package I send.

What do you do when you are not creating?
My other favorite thing to do is hunt for anything old, vintage, antique, and affordable. I love to shop and if I am not making something at the kitchen table, cooking or crafting, then I am shopping. Steeler football ranks over crafting and shopping, but I am considering combining some crafting with a game this weekend, as I need a Steeler banner and some ruffled black and gold crepe paper garland.

Holiday Finds For Dad

From now through the holidays, we here at the NCTriangle Street Team would like to make your holiday shopping a little bit easier. Why drive all the way to the mall and fight the crowds when you can simply relax at your keyboard and let your fingers do the shopping? Over the next couple months we'll bring you some targeted holiday finds from the NCTriangle Street Team. Keep in mind that these are just a snapshot of the many incredible items that the NCTriangle Street Team has. Please feel free to search for more on Etsy, using our tag "nctriangle team."

Today's Holiday Finds are gifts for Dad! Dad can always be a little difficult to shop for, so we thought we'd help you out with these great items.

From karensoaps we have some Crackling Campfire Soap!

There is nothing she loves more than sitting by a nice warm campfire on a cool summer night!

This 4oz soap is made with a gentle vegetable based glycerin soap base. It is scented with a Crackling Campfire fragrance oil, and tinted with a brown sparkle dye. It smells like a mixture of wood and smoke. It would make a great gift for an outdoorsy dad.

Next we have a Quilted Eyeglass or Sunglass Case from megrnc.

No need for your boring, standard eyeglass case from the optometrist.

This one-of-a-kind eyeglass case is made from 100% medium weight cotton fabric that has been pre-washed and dried. The outer fabric is from Amy Butler's Belle Line and it is lined with a matching 1930's reproduction green fabric with white and orange flowers. The top border is solid green.

Because the fabric has been pre-washed and dried, this can be cleaned in your washing machine.

MEASUREMENTS:
6 1/2 inches long
3 3/4 inches wide

FEATURES:
*Machine quilted in green thread, in a random pattern

*All inside raw edges are overcasted to prevent unraveling

OPTIONAL FEATURES:
I will be happy to add a velcro enclosure for an additional $2.

If the fabric isn't manly enough for you, contact megrnc and she'd be happy to work with you.

From jclange we have a unique Custom Photo Collage - Kids.

This listing is for a personalized work of art using a photograph that you supply.

The canvas shown here is an example of her work.

She will use your photo to create a custom-made collage on 1 1/2" thick, finished-edge canvas that will be a one-of-a-kind piece of art and a keepsake ready to hang on your wall.

These unique portraits are a fun variation on traditional family photos and look terrific in any room. They also make a thoughtful gift for grandparents, family members and friends.

Does the dad you are shopping for like photography and appreciate a bit of humor? Here we have a "Brain Repair" photograph from photobox.

This is a 5x7 archive-quality photograph, professionally printed in matte finish with a white border for framing. If you would prefer the image be printed without a border, just let her know during checkout. Copyright will not appear on the image you receive.

This piece comes unframed.

Photobox has many great photos in her shop. If this isn't exactly what you are looking for, take a moment to check out her shop.

And finally, for the sushi-loving dad, we have a set of four vintage Solid Wood Mini Wasabi Bowls from tripletrouble.

These little vintage bowls are the cutest things. They are the perfect size for serving wasabi!

They are miniature bowls measuring approx. 3" in diameter.

With the holidays upon us, she'd be happy to send these to you wrapped with ribbon in a sweet clear cello pouch with a small blank holiday tag. Please request in a comment to buyer at the time of purchase.

Once again, keep in mind that these are just a snapshot of the many incredible items that the NCTriangle Street Team has. Please feel free to search for more on Etsy, using our tag "nctriangle team." Thanks for shopping with the NCTriangle Street Team!
