Handmade Happenings - July 16-18, 2010

It may be quiet in the Triangle this weekend, but some of our sellers are hitting the highway.  Arts & crafts road trip, anyone?

Friday, Saturday & Sunday, July 16-8
Artscape - Baltimore, Maryland

America’s largest free arts festival, Artscape features 150+artists, fashion designers and craftspeople, including DIY/new wave crafters; visual art exhibits on and off site, such as outdoor sculpture, art cars, photography and the Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize; incredible live concerts on four outdoor stages; a full schedule of performing arts including dance, opera, theater, fashion, film, experimental music and performances by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; family events such as hands-on projects, demonstrations, jazz vocal and combo competitions, children’s entertainers and multiple street theater locations; and a delicious, international menu of food and beverages available throughout the site.

Saturday, July 17
33rd Annual Lake Festival - Clarksville, Virginia
This event includes a wide variety of festivities from Thursday - Saturday, with a Juried Arts & Crafts Show on Saturday.  Nearly 200 artists from across the Southeast, including water ink, acrylic and oil paintings…even face painters, pottery, leather products, birdhouses and garden accessories, carvers and sculptors, jewelry made from bicycle spokes, live bonsai trees, items to be personalized on the spot, blown glass jewelry, photography, clothing, home accessories and even pet attire–just to name a few.
