Handmade Happenings - July 10-11, 2010

Take your mind off the heat this weekend with some artistic diversions! Start out in Raleigh for the NC Arts Council's 2nd Saturday event, then road trip up to The Big Crafty in Asheville (it's sure to be cooler in the mountains, right?)  See you there!

NC Arts Council 2nd Saturday - Images of the Capitol

Experience the State Capitol from different vantage points, take part in an architectural photography clinic, or bring your sketchbook. Painters, photographers and other visual artists will be on-site.  (Part of the NC Arts Council's 2nd Saturdays program, offering arts, crafts, heritage & fun through events at historic sites across the state on the 2nd Saturdays of each month all summer long.)

Sunday, July 11
The Big Crafty
Celebrating homemade art and crafts of all inspirations, The Big Crafty is a juried, independent craft fair featuring more than 100 local artists and crafters. Plus, live demos, DJs, food & drink and a raffle; it's the art lovers' social event of the year.
Where: Pack Place, Downtown Asheville
When: Noon - 6 pm
