Handmade Happenings, October 7-9, 2011

First Friday in October, beautiful fall weather, and great arts & crafts events!  Raleigh, Cary and Wilmington this weekend, and then a special event in Durham on Monday.  See you there!

Friday, October 7
First Friday - Raleigh
Join us for a fun-filled introduction to Raleigh's exciting art, music and dining scene.  Enjoy a free self-guided tour of local art galleries, art studios, museums, retail, restaurants and alternative art venues!
Where: Downtown Raleigh
When: 6:oo pm - ??? (times vary by venue)
Artists to visit:
* OldBroomStreet (aka Bordeaux Lane Studio) and LaTeDaJewels will be at the Morning Times Market on Harget Street (between Fayetteville & Wilmgington Streets.) Local art vendors, live music and more! In front of the Morning Times Coffee Shop and the Raleigh Times Bar from 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm.
* Metamorphosis has an open house at her studio in The Carter Building- 14 Glenwood Ave, Studio #24 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

Saturday, October 8
Cary Downtown Farmers Market
The Cary Downtown Farmers Market features only items grown or produced by the vendor within a 100-mile radius of the market.  Let us be your first stop for locally grown vegetables and fruit, dairy, honey, crafts and more!
Where: Chatham Square Shopping Center, 744 East Chatham Street, Cary, NC
When: 8:00 am - 12:30 pm

Saturday - Sunday, October 8 - 9
Riverfest - Wilmington
Riverfest has about 200 craft and food vendors plus fireworks, entertainment on two stages, various exhibits and a children’s area. Additional Riverfest activities include skateboard competitions, street dance, wakeboard competition and a musical Battle on the River by a number of bands, a film festival, and Art in the Garden tours of gorgeous private and public gardens enhanced by art and music. Plus - the Invasion of the Pirates!
Where: Water Street, Wilmington 
When: Saturday - 10:00 am - 6:00 pm; Sunday 10:30 am - 5:00 pm

Monday, October 10
Arts Fair - Durham
Duke Divinity School 2011 Convocation & Pastors' School - A celebration and study of Arts and the Life of the Church.  The Arts Fair portion of the conference is open to the public.

When: 9:30 am - 5:30 pm
