Handmade Happenings - July 30-August 1, 2010

 This weekend, the action is in downtown Raleigh!  And by "action", we mean everything from the Maximus Circus performers, to a Krispy Kreme donut eating contest, to 4 stages of live music, kids activities, and of course, some of the best handmade arts & crafts around. Plus, it's all free! Come enjoy the show & support your local art-repreneurs. ;)

In addition to all these other great activites, there will be two venues for local artists to share their handmade arts & crafts!
"Artisan Market" features more than 100 vendors, artists & more in the City Plaza area, right on Fayetteville Street.
"Art Raleigh" a festival inside a festival, with all NC artists, in front of the Convention Center on Salisbury Street. 
Where: Fayetteville Street area, from the Capitol through City Plaza to Lenoir Street
When: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm

The newest addition to Raleigh community markets, come visit with your neighbors while shopping for fresh food, and other handmade goodies.

Worldwide Photo Walk
The Photo Walk is a social photography event where photographers get together to walk around, shoot photos, and generally have fun with other photographers. Nearly 30,000 photographers have signed up in more than 1,100 cities world wide. No experience or fancy equipment required, just a love of photography - you can shoot with your cell phone if you want!
Participation is free, and there's a contest, too.
Where: Meet at NC State's D.H. Hill Library (Hillsborough Street side), Raleigh *
When: 9:45 am - 12:15 pm (followed by optional gathering at Global Village Coffee
