Holiday Finds For Mom

From now through the holidays, we here at the NCTriangle Street Team would like to make your holiday shopping a little bit easier. Why drive all the way to the mall and fight the crowds when you can simply relax at your keyboard and let your fingers do the shopping? Over the next few months we'll bring you some targeted holiday finds from the NCTriangle Street Team. Keep in mind that these are just a snapshot of the many incredible items that the NCTriangle Street Team has. Please feel free to search for more on Etsy, using our tag "nctriangle team."

Today's finds are unique handmade goods that could strike mom's fancy. You know that mom will be putting her heart and soul into looking for great gifts for you, so take a look at what we have for her.

From CarolinaPatchworks, we have a gorgeous quilt.

This colorful quilt glows with a cheerful fall vibe. Rich jewel tone prints in red, turquoise, brown, yellow, and green from Tula Pink's Nest collection form a rich rainbow of colors swirled and mixed together in a flock of whirlpools making up this eclectic quilt.

Binding is a coordinating red and brown perched bird vine print. Backed in turquoise stray feathers print with a strip of patches down the middle. Quilted in a dense freehand circular pattern.

Some features include:
- Approximately 44 inches (112 cm) square.
- Made from 100% cotton fabric, batting and thread.
- Machine wash cold and tumble dry low.
- Pieced and quilted by machine in smoke-free and pet-free home.

For the coffee-drinking mom, Jenngee has fantastic coffee corsets like this one.

Those disposable paper cuffs just won't do! A fabric coffee cuff is an Earth-friendly and stylish way to keep your digits protected from the heat. It fits all standard paper cups offered by your favorite coffee hangout and can be reused over and over again. Just fold it up when you are done and pop it in your purse or pocket and it is ready for your next caffeinated treat. It can be used for cold beverages as well. A great gift idea!

This particular cuff is executed in a 100% cotton fabric inside and out - a collection of white flowers on a red background. It is layered with 100% cotton batting and free-motion machine quilted using red thread. Finally, the cuff is finished with my signature corset-style lacing using hand-hammered eyelets and a white ribbon. Everything is finished off with a red button with a very interesting texture. The corset is completed with *no raw edges* for a very neat appearance and all ribbon is treated to prevent fraying.

JazzTurtle has this colorful bundle of handspun yarn called Chocolate Rainbows.

She creates unique handspun yarn and fiber batts. There are 139 yards of this piece.

She spun this yarn slightly thick and thin with a low twist.. so it's really soft and fluffy..

Yummy chocolate merino, with lots of rainbow colors and sparkles.. and lots of different fibers.. there's bamboo and silk and firestar and angelina.. even some curls of locks here and there! She just loves how this yarn turned out!!

She can spin up more of this if you'd like more yardage

Wraps per inch: 8-10
Recommended needles: 11 or higher
Recommended hook: M or higher

VintageScraps has a unique journal made just for moms.

She says,"When my teenagers were little, people would always say "These years go by so fast!" And yes, they were right, they did fly by. BUT, so often the DAYS and NIGHTS would last FOREVER....!
So this journal is for moms; 3 sections in which to journal: when you are frustrated, when you are thankful, when you are overwhelmed, and then a Bible verse for each to help keep you going. Collaged and sectioned off with antique graphics, the inside is hand stamped and wall papered with original 1940's children's text. It's hard being a mom, but hang in there- you can do it!"

Finally, if you think mom would love some jewelery, riskybeads has this fabulous piece called Exotic Anchor.

This 40mm howlite turquoise donut is strung with 18" (46 cm) of dark brown and gold organza ribbon and accented with a carved and painted aqua brass barrel bead. Ribbons finish with antique brass ribbon and lobster clasps. If you need an extender chain, please let me know in notes to seller and indicate the length you need it to be.

In addition to being a wonderful addition to anyone's jewelry box, this type of pendant is the PERFECT nursing necklace for a new mom because it's the perfect shape and size for baby to hold onto while nursing. The stone helps baby stay focused while feeding and is smooth and cold to the touch. Makes a great baby shower gift!

Jewelry comes packaged on her signature Risky Beads card stock with its baggage and sealed in a poly bag. Need it Risky Wrapped? Let her know. Risky Beads is at your service!

Once again, keep in mind that these are just a snapshot of the many incredible items that the NCTriangle Street Team has. Please feel free to search for more on Etsy, using our tag "nctriangle team." Thanks for shopping with the NCTriangle Street Team!

Where We Create: Behind the Scenes of NC Triangle Etsiers

How would you describe the space in which you create?

My space is the room formerly known as the sunroom!

What is your favorite thing about your space?

It’s surrounded by windows and trees, in the middle of everything I need to do during the day around the house, but set off just enough to be its own area.

How do you keep your space organized?

It’s pretty easy- I’m always organized (I have issues!) Plus, it helps that everything is kept in a cute antique container of some sort, so they are my decorations as well as functioning pieces.

Do you have inspiration pieces in your space? If so, what are they?

My main desk was a work bench in my Dad’s Chicago office many years ago and I love working on it. The plates in the windows are a Christmas present from my husband from William Sonoma, by a French artist who uses vintage newspapers in his work.

Is there something else you'd like to share about your space?

Several of the furnishings were pulled out of different neighbor’s garbage piles!
