Welcome to the first 2012 edition of the NC Triangle Team's Handmade Happenings post! Each week we will bring you an event listing with details on all of the great opportunities to meet and shop with our member artists & crafters that are happening in our area. Whether you are looking for a unique gift or just a fun outing, we hope to see you out in the Triangle area this year!

First Friday - Raleigh
Join us for a fun-filled introduction to Raleigh's exciting art, music and dining scene with local art galleries, art studios, museums, retail, restaurants and alternative art venues!

We are saddened to report that this year's Lazy Daze Festival in Cary has been canceled, due to the potential for hazardous weather caused by Hurricane Irene. Several of our team members had planned to participate this year, and we know they are disappointed.

The "DDM" features fine locally made arts and crafts with an outdoor big city feel.  Our vendors showcase some of the finest handcrafted arts and crafts in the area: jewelry, pottery, apparel, stained glass, paper crafts and more!

Handmade Happenings - April 23-24, 2011



This weekend we have two events to share with you in Raleigh -- the grand opening of The Saturday Market in the Boylan Heights neighborhood and the spring edition of The Handmade Market downtown.  Also, there are free public Easter Egg Hunts on the Halifax Mall square downtown (http://raleigheaster.com/ for more info).  Happy Easter!

The Saturday Market, organized by Rebus Works, will bring together farmers, bakers, crafts people, designers, coffee carts, food trucks, brewers and more, in Raleigh's south west Boylan Heights neighborhood.  Join us every Saturday throughout the summer and fall for locally produced food & goods.

We have a wide variety of events all around the Triangle this weekend - from an Earth Day celebration on NC State's campus in Raleigh, the farmer's market in Cary, an arts & craft show in Hillsborough, a special trunk show in Chapel Hill.  And if you're feeling like a road trip, there's even a show in Richmond for you hardcore handmade afficianados.  See you there!

The Cary Downtown Farmers Market features only items grown or produced by the vendor within a 100-mile radius of the market.  Let us be your first stop for locally grown vegetables and fruit, pasture-raised meats, eggs, honey, cut flowers, landscape plants, crafts, pottery, jewelry, home-made jams, jellies, sauces and baked goods.

Handmade Happenings - April 9-10, 2011

More than a dozen of our terrific Triangle area artists will be displaying their work at events this weekend! The Durham Art Walk Spring Market has something for everyone with art, crafts, jewelry, fashion, live music at indoor & outdoor venues, interactive events, food trucks, raffles & more! If you're in Raleigh, be sure to visit Spring Fling at the Raleigh Moravian Church, too.  Both are great opportunities to find unique, handmade & locally-made gifts for Easter, Mother's & Father's Day, and graduations.
